Replacing some really old components today. Rings, chain and cassette have approximately 15,000 kms on them. Check out the photos. The 44T big ring is shagged, can't believe it wasn't skipping. Out with the old cycling shoes as well. I've settled on Schwalbe Marathon Plus Touring tyres, highly rated on the interweb as virtually indestructible. I suppose we'll soon find out. I use the road version of these day to day and they are first class. The first few kms around Lake Eyre are sandy so we're taking some extra wide (2.5 inch) MTB tyres for that.
Anyway, pull the bike down in to bits and put in box for flight to Adelaide.
